Keith Jackson and Janet Jackson – husband and wife, and colleagues at Arlington Automotive – are relocating to Slovakia for the next two years to lead Arlington’s new plant in Nitra and help grow the business.
The new 6,000 square metre plant is opposite Jaguar Land Rover – a move in-line with Arlington’s policy to always be close to major OEMs to increase the efficiency of products and service.
Keith is General Manager of Arlington Automotive Slovakia and is overseeing the start-up of the plant. He has been initially based at Arlington Coventry to understand the business operations which will be replicated in Slovakia, with a view to running the Nitra facility when operational in the first quarter of 2019.
Janet has worked in a Quality role for the past 34 years. She has also been training at Arlington Coventry for the past six months as a Quality Engineer, learning more about the automotive industry and to support her husband in their new venture.
As part of the move, Keith has also joined the Board of the Slovakian British Chamber of Commerce, and will help promote Arlington Automotive at an Ambassadorial level.
Of the move to Slovakia, Keith said: “This is an opportunity that I will relish. With only two people working in the plant we have to be very versatile, so I have taken my fork lift driving course, first aid course and am learning about the Arlington MRP system.”
Janet added: “After 34 years of working for the same company doing a quality role, it was a hard decision to leave the company and the UK to enter in a new adventure with my husband. But Slovakia is an amazing country and where we are living in Bratislava is good and safe which is important to me.”
We wish Keith and Janet all the best and look forward to hearing of their success in Slovakia!
